The Wallet on the Tram

Last Tuesday, Maya took a crowded tram home. When a seat became free, she noticed a brown wallet under it. There was some cash, a travel card, and a student card with the name Oliver Grant, but no phone number.

Maya planned to give the wallet to the driver. Then a worried young man got on and began looking around. ‘Have you lost something?’ she asked. He described the wallet and named the exact amount of cash inside.

Oliver was relieved when Maya returned it. He offered her money, but she refused. Instead, they got off at the same stop and had coffee. They discovered they lived on nearby streets and both loved old films.
